It does go up to at least 500°, it's just that when I ran it the first time it was so full of water in the insulation and possibly in the bottom that it just spent all the energy boiling of steam.

edit: found out myself. The bocca´s shape is because I welded it from angle-irons that I got for free. It has almost the exact same area as a circular shape.

Next on the list is to finish it with white paint on the roof and base, the sides of the oven will be covered with white glass tiles 20x20 mm.
